Milestone | Meyer walks!

Two major milestones happened in the late afternoon on Sunday, February 12, 2012…

Our friends were awarded their first Grammy. We watched online and did an awesome happy dance in the kitchen. So proud!!

Chris and the guys accepting their Grammy for "And If Our God Is For Us".

And not five minutes later Meyer took her first steps. Epic! We did another happy dance! So proud! I’m pretty sure Baby Cakes could have walked about a month ago, but she can be pretty stubborn (where does she get that from?!). Now that she’s put her mind to it, she’s a wallkin’ all over the place. Oh MyMy, how we love you! Welcome to the walking world!

This is a video of some of Meyer’s first steps that only grandparents, my sister, and myself will enjoy. The rest of the world will be under impressed, but I think watching your baby take their first steps is the most wonderful thing in the world! (**note: checkout Meyer’s pig tails! they are tiny, but we are trying! I think she’s adorable!)

  1. Hi!

I’m a horrible commenter–but I’ve been following your blog for a long time :)–I think that maybe you had just come home with Evyn when we were starting the adoption process with our Beza. 🙂

But I wanted to say thank you for sharing about the 72 Days for Freedom. I’ve been reading quite a few books and watching a lot about human trafficking. It is SO heavy on my heart. I LOVE that there are practical steps to take on their site.

Also, I wanted to let you know that I loved your recent posts about Nash in Nicaragua. We’ve been reading a lot of…hmmm…I guess Christian hero stories–like Amy Carmichael and Nate Saint and we just finished Katie Davis’s book. I have a 6-year-old girl, a 4-year-old guy and 20-month-old Beza. I’ve been wondering if taking our oldest on a little trip would help bring what we are reading to more life–she loves their stories. And I want their lives to be shaped by the reality of the world’s needs and beauty of the people. Anyway–I keep wondering if she’s old enough and so reading about his trip is encouraging me to explore some options for this summer. 🙂

Thanks again for sharing! I’m going to post it on my blog later today. 🙂

  2. I love how you pull Evyn by the shirt!!! precious!
btw- i somehow missed that you had switched to this blog. You weren’t showing up in my reader and I just assumed you were too busy to blog. SO happy to find out you’re still blogging! Now I have some catch-up reading to do!
