We made our way to North Georgia for a family day trip and picnic. We had a fun time together, but I have to admit, the storybook picnic experience is not realistic with a 1 and a 3 year old. It confirmed my belief that 1 and 3 year olds (at least my 1 and 3 year old) need confined and defined eating spaces…or a more chilled out mom who can handle the stress of food chaos. (I really need to relax more, I know.) Thankfully we all managed to eat and enjoyed the pretty scenery. As a bonus, Evyn didn’t choke on the handful of whole grapes she shoved in her mouth while I wasn’t looking (again, confined eating spaces resolve this issue), Nash did manage to step on his sandwich a few times…but we brushed it off so it was it was still edible–though branded with his footprint, and I’m pretty sure most of the smashed food stains will wash out of our great grandmothers quilt that I thought would be pretty to use for our storybook picnic. I know I sound stressed out, but we choose to just laugh at the chaos and the kids loved it. I need more of these fun family days in my life!
