Oh yeah, I’m pregnant! It’s funny how with baby #3 I don’t have nearly as much time to sit around and obsess about the pregnancy like I did with my first. While my body doesn’t let me forget, my mind often forgets I’m pregnant. I am 23.5 weeks and doing really well (minus the part about feeling like a roasting pig in this awful summer heat!) I went to the doctor last week and Bryson and I got to see our little person on the ultrasound. Awesome! Creating a child really is such a massive miracle! The awe and wonder of growing a human is just hard to fathom. Recently a woman at the grocery stopped me and said, “Being pregnant is one of the few miracles in life that God lets us help with”. While I kind of agree, I’m pretty sure all I’m doing is lending my body and God is doing all the work! How in the world he is knitting together a life inside me ย and I just go on living, eating, working, and taking a few extra naps…it’s just beyond amazing. It was so powerful to watch my little person move and flip and kick and rub it’s face on the ultrasound. ย I am so thankful for the healthy baby growing inside me today!
We do opt out on finding out the sex of the baby. I know, I know…it drives people crazy. But we LOVE the surprise! There is something really wonderful about letting Bryson get to tell me what the baby is just after it’s born. I like to think of it as his moment to shine in the delivery. ๐ ย Nash is pretty convinced it’s a girl…a girl named Fox. I’m kind of hoping for a boy, but will of course be happy either way. Coming up with a girl name and a boy name has proven more difficult this time around since we have used both of our favorite names already. We think we have landed on some good options…but of course I’m not going to tell you. Remember, we like surprises. I am open to suggestions if you want to chime in on the comments section! But keep in mind, we do have some criteria (we are high matainence, what can I say?!)
- it has to be a unique but not weird name.
- strong name with a solid meaning…since most people can’t remember our last name we are generally just known by our firsts
- it has to be really far down on Social Security Popular Names list (meaning no where near the top 400 names)
Bring it on. Would love to hear your brilliant suggestions! Have a great Wednesday blog-world friends!
What about Lyric? It could be either a boy or girl name. Or the name Lyra is very pretty and it hasn’t been on the top 1000 names in the past 10 years!
You guys should try Swistle Baby Names- It’s nice to have mostly-anonymous suggestions when picking out something so personal and important. Her crew of readers takes these names suggestions really seriously, too!

Zeke was one of our boy names. Since we’re only having one baby of our own, you’re welcome to it! ๐
It’s Unique. Some scriptural basis. Definitely not heard very often. I’m just saying.
actually love that name! it’s been on the list for awhile, but the husband isn’t a fan. ๐ฆ
We were going to use Channing if our baby was a girl…but God is blesing us with a son instead!
Emily, you’re totally having a boy. ๐ I have no name suggestions, but I think you’ll only have to come up with a boy name.
I really like Thatcher for a boy or girl, but Joe hates it. It’s not in the top 1000, and hasn’t been for the last 10 years. I also like Walker, which is 459, and not too weird, as well as Kurt (which Joe also hates), that hasn’t been in the top 1000 since 2005. Apparently I have lots of ideas! :0)
I’m probably not a good one to give suggestions right now because I’m searching for names too!! I checked my fave baby name book out of the library last week =)
So glad Baby #3 is healthy and lookin’ cute on the ultrasound. There’s just nothing sweeter than a baby!
How about Knox if it’s a boy and Memphis if it’s a girl? ๐
I still think Nash is right on on this one: Fox Vogeltanz!
I like Knox…but I can’t have a knox and Nash…people will think I am crazy about TN! Ew. ๐
Kristen and I vote “Giovanni”. It means “God is Gracious” in Italian….
I like the name Selah for a girl. It means pause and reflect. It’s from the Psalms.

I like the name JENS.
I mentioned it to Andrew and Stacey….Mostly I like it with your rather lengthy last name and the meaning. Look it up. Mrs. G
