Blog-stalking + nesting

The adoption bug has really gotten to me the past week or so. I’ve been on the hunt to find the other families on waiting list around us. I guess you can call it blog-stalking…but not in a creepy way. šŸ™‚ It’s fun to watch others journey through the adoption process and it is reassuring to know we are all feeling many of the same emotions and struggles. The unknown of who our little ones are…if they are born yet or already safe in the arms of Hannah’s Hope orphanage…the curiosity about the birth mother and the struggles she may be facing. Then there is the fun side…celebrating with these families as they inch up the wait list and eventually get “the call”! We are all cheering for each other and share in each others joy when those moments come. (So if you are one of those families near us on the AGCI wait list, say Hi in the comments section below. We would love to “meet” you!)Ā

I’ve also started to “nest”. This morning I began cleaning and organizing the nursery to get it GIRL ready! Though it will be months before our little one is home with us she is already very much in our thoughts, and especially our hearts.Ā

  1. Hi Emily,
Your son is so cute, too! I’m so glad to “meet” you as well. I did/do a lot of blog stalking myself, especially with our first adoption. Our first time around, I did the same thing you did with the clothing! I had received a bunch of stuff from a friend and just hung it all up one day! I think my husband thought I was a little nuts (b/c it was all different sizes/seasons), but it made me happy to do something to prepare for the baby.

I hope we get to travel together! I see there has been some movement on the list over the past 2 weeks, so that’s really exciting!

  2. I have done my fair share of blog “stalking” šŸ™‚ It helps us get by while we wait for our baby. I sometimes feel I am a little obsessed!

I have been nesting as well and bought some clothes on clearance last night. I don’t know what size he is or will be, but it was nice to buy some things for him and hang in his closet.

We are unofficially number 5 on the boys list right now.

I was scrolling down through your posts and your house is adorable!!! LOVE it!
